In 2012 Hurricane Sandy severely affected New York and Long Island leaving much of the beaches in wreck without sand and vegetation.
Boyscout Troop #51 Andrew Aurichio invited people to help replant the area this morning as part of his Eagle Project as he gets a new badge.
"The boyscouts are great for the country because they learn how to take care of the land. We have a similar organization in Australia too. It's amazing to see people fix an area that was washed away during a hurricane and help re-vegetate the beach. Obviously it's important that we all take care of our beaches so we can continue to enjoy them, as well as the animals." Said Werner-Gray.
