Invictus Games will be held in USA Orlando, Florida this coming Sunday May 8th through Thursday May 12th.
Liana plans to attend and says she is "Very excited that this organization exists and gives people such an epic opportunity for rehabilitation."
Werner-Gray has worked with tens of thousands of people who suffer from cancer, disease, eating disorders, depression and poor health and says she has enjoyed the past 7 years of work dedicated to offer hope and guidance for people who are recovering. This dedication only came after Liana's own healing journey of addiction, a golf-ball size tumor in her lymphatic system, chronic fatigue, Epstein bar virus and digestive issues. She shares the story in her best selling book, The Earth Diet.
"After my grandfather died, my Nanna eventually remarried a man who survived the Veitnamn war. He has incredible stories and it's mind blowing that he is still alive. He is such a survivor and it's very inspiring. I've always been a believer of no matter what happens to you in life, when we get knocked down eventually we have to get back up again. Invictus Games supports people in getting back up and having a fulfilling life after they've come back from the war and have lost limbs or are majorly injured either physically or mentally."
"When I first heard about this organization," she continues "I immediately felt grateful for my body, my health and that I have all my limbs. I think a lot of us can take our body for granted and forget how amazing it is that we can wake up and jump out of bed, shower and go to work without thinking about missing an arm or a leg."
"This organization also brings attention to the good nature of our society, how we are able to come together and support each other no matter how bad things may have gotten."
